Inside our Los Lunas data center.

Today we celebrated the grand opening of our newest data center in Los Lunas, New Mexico. We selected this location for our six-building campus because of its access to robust infrastructure, a strong local talent pool, and new renewable energy resources. Once completed, the center will represent a more than $1 billion investment, and today the location supports more than 150 jobs. In keeping with our commitment to efficiency and to supporting our global operations with 100 percent renewable energy, we have worked with the utility and leading developers to bolster New Mexico’s renewable energy market. This center will be one of our first to be certified Gold under version 4 of the LEED rating system.

We are committed to working with the local community to reduce our footprint and create a positive impact in the communities that host us. To that end, we worked closely with the Public Service of New Mexico to develop a new renewable energy tariff that allows customers to purchase renewable resources. We have signed commitments that will add more than 396 MW of new wind and solar resources to the New Mexico electric grid. And we have partnered with the local community to restore the wetlands and streams to the Comanche Creek area in northern New Mexico. Our new Los Lunas Data Center will also soon award its first Community Action Grants for projects and organizations based in Valencia County.
